Mental First Aid

When we first heard about the concept of Mental First Aid last year we were taken with it. Why not? It’s obvious when you think about it. We have learned to take on basic casualty care to help provide an interim support for physically injured people. It’s common sense. Why wouldn’t you have a basic approach for mental health care so that you can provide some temporay but effective support for someone who is mentally not well. We intend to explore this further and the programme will have training specific to adolescents. It’s worth the effort.
